WOW!! What just happened? The market's been slowly grinding itself higher for months, we're thinking this is great, valuations based on earnings look very reasonable, companies are forecasting good to great results going forward, interest rates are low, there
This is very scary for me as a retired person.
ReplyDeleteIf Portugal and Italy and maybe more countries
are following Greece, then what can we expect
since we now are in a global economy?
Great question! But you know the other currency crises I mentioned were not that long ago and the word then was "what happens now that we're in a global economy"... Clearly however this isn't anything to sneeze at (as it wasn't then either), particularly if you're a short-term investor.
ReplyDeleteIf your allocation is consistent with your time horizon, I'd stay the course...
Although if you're losing sleep, you should of course reconsider your exposure to the market...
Looks to me like there might be a good opportunity to invest some more money soon. I know the market will always come back and I am still at least 30 years from retirement. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure of the "why's" of yesterday (i.e., fat fingered Greeks or what), I just hope that you bought a pantload of Accenture stock for my portfolio when it was at $.01!!! Keep up the great work and sound commentary, Marty.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mr. Pistoressi.... And if you have cash to add to your long-term portfolio, absolutely...
ReplyDeleteRegretably we missed Accenture at .01... Will keep the commentary coming... Thanks Mark...
