Charts of the Day: Just another December '24 day...

Just FYI for you daily stock market-watchers... As I keep preaching, breadth (massive divergence[s]) in December doesn't paint the rosiest of pictures.

In the chart below:

SP500 white (largest market caps have the most influence): -1.38%
SP500 equal weight green (all the same stocks with equal representation): -6.02%

Nasdaq 100 purple (largest market caps have the most influence): +1.46
Nasdaq 100 equal weight yellow (all the same stocks with equal representation): -4.45%

Dow Jones Industrial Average blue (price-weighted): -4.39%

Today being no exception:

SP500 up 0.57% as I type, (while the equal weight and the Dow trade lower), with nearly 60% of its members in the red.
8 of the top 10 reside in the tech space.

Interestingly, Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines, along with FedEx, are standouts among the bottom 10 losers.

Of course this is a holiday (typically low-volume) week, so we won't make too much out of it...
